Istraživao je teme od migracije ptica u djelu The Mystery of Bird Navigation (2016), preko intelektualne povijesti tame u Aleph Null & The Missing Mass (2017), do zvučne tehnologije u Phonaturograph (2014) i fizike čestica u The Color of Quarks (2015). U svojim novijim radovima Death Mother (2024), P-P-P-Page White (2025) i Same Sun (2026), Malum Fitje eksperimentira s umjetnom inteligencijom i digitalnom distorzijom. Kroz ova tri rada trenira AI sustave kako bi simulirao oblike ljudske krhkosti i poremećenog govora, uključujući Touretteov sindrom i mucanje.
Tor-Finn Malum Fitje is a director and video artist based in Oslo, Norway. He holds an MFA from the Royal Academy of Art in Stockholm, a BFA from Konstfack and a Bachelor in Film Directing from Bergen University. His work has been exhibited at The National Museum of Art in Oslo, Oplandia Center for Contemporary Art and the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm. Recent festival selections include screenings at the New York City Independent Film Festival (2025) and Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (2024). For more than fifteen years, Malum Fitje has developed a diverse body of work in moving image, spanning feature-length essay films, 3D animation, fictional short films, and multi- channel video installations. He has explored subjects ranging from bird migration in The Mystery of Bird Navigation (2016) to the intellectual history of darkness in Aleph Null & The Missing Mass (2017), from sound technology in Phonaturograph (2014) to particle physics in The Color of Quarks (2015). In the mockumentary Hyphenic (2018), he devised a fictional language system together with a conspiracy theory proposing its emergence within mold cultures. The multimedia project Ad Nauseam (2019–2022) comprises fourteen satirical essay films depicting a society in which doubt has been eradicated. In his recent works Death Mother (2024), P-P-P-Page White (2025), and Same Sun (2026), Malum Fitje experiments with artificial intelligence and digital distortion. Across these three works, he trains AI systems to simulate forms of human fragility and disrupted speech, including Tourette’s syndrome and stuttering.
