Film tjedna #005 - 1 10 100 1000 (r. Neven Dužanec, 2012.)

Prvo je Stan Brakhage ostatke moljaca zalijepio na praznu filmsku vrpcu i reanimirao ih svjetlom projektora, prikazujući nam sablasnu raskoš njihovog posmrtnog leta. Nešto kasnije, Neven Dužanec je snimio žive moljce kako zbunjeni kruže oko lampe u potrazi za mjesecom i njihov let podvrgnuo mijenama brzine, ogoljujući tragikomičnu sudbinu letača. Suhoparni brojevi u naslovu označavaju postotak brzine prikazivanja kojem su izloženi. Okrugla se lampa od tisućice utrostruči, da bi čas poslije cener njeno svjetlo pretvorio u mutni mliječni put; broj jedan i moljac postaje žar ptica ili samo pokretna mrlja u mraku. Za razliku od Brakhagea, Dužanec poeziju ne traži u začaranom krugu života i smrti, već analitičkim pristupom izvlači onostrano iz svakodnevne sitnice. Sjaju plastičnog stolca u tami teško je odoljeti. 

Neven Dužanec je jedini autor koji je na svakom od dosadašnjih 18. Gledališta Kinokluba Zagreb prikazao barem jedan film. Nema se tu što više reći – jedan je od najvećih!

First, Stan Brakhage glued moth remains onto blank film-stock and reanimated them with the light of projector, showing us the ghastly splendor of their posthumous flight. Then, a little later, Neven Dužanec recorded live moths circling around a lamp, confused in their search for the moon, and subjected their flight to various changes in speed, laying bare the tragicomic fate of the fliers. The dry numbers which make up the films title refer to the speed percentage they are being exposed to. A thousand makes the round lamp split into three, while a dime turns its light into a Milky Way blur; number one and a moth becomes a phoenix or some mobile stain in the dark. Unlike Brakhage, Dužanec doesn't look for poetry in the enchanted circle of life and death, but extracts a piece of beyond from something mundane with an analytical approach. It's hard to resist the glow of a plastic chair in the dark.

Neven Dužanec is the only filmmaker whose films have featured at each of the 18 Kinoklub Zagreb Showcases. Not much else needs to be said – he is one of our greatest!
